Alliant Launches New Web Site and myAlliant Portal

You can access your myAlliant portal from the top right of the Alliant Homepage at www.Alliant.edu or go directly to the portal at https://my.alliant.edu/ics. Login to myAlliant using the same Alliant Username and Password credentials you use to access the Alliant network, Email and Moodle.

Password Announcement
_In May 2011, the IT department sent an announcement to all users of
Alliant systems regarding the need for periodic password changes. This
announcement generated a lot of feedback, and therefore we delayed
implementation while we did a bit more research on the subject. We have
consulted with other colleges and universities, and with professional
organizations representing IT professionals in higher education.
As a result of these investigations, we have revised the policy as follows:
Improving the security of Alliant systems is a best practice among all kinds of organizations, including colleges and universities. The recommendation to strengthen our password policy comes from our external auditors and from our Board of Trustees. It is not optional.
To change the password you use to access the Alliant network, myAlliant, Email and/or Moodle, select the following link https://pwreset.alliant.edu
As a result of these investigations, we have revised the policy as follows:
- Beginning July 5, 2011 you will be prompted to change your password when you sign on to any Alliant system. You will be required to use a password of at least eight characters in length, consisting of a combination of numbers, upper and lower case letters and special characters.
- You will be required to change your password every 180 days (six months).

Students will need to enter AT in the Domain field. Faculty and Staff should use ALLIANT.
Passwords should not include any portion of the username and need to be a minimum of 8 characters in length containing at least one upper case letter, one lower case letter, one number and one special character ( i.e. ! @ # $ %)
